About The Group

The group was formed in 2013. It is funded by the Gloucestershire District Health & Community branch of Unison, that is self organised, but we have limited voting rights at branch meetings. We try to organise an outing bi-monthly and have a catch up meeting in Gloucester and Stroud so that all members can decide on the next venue or event.

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES AND BENEFITS
You will be entitled to a wide range of benefits through UNISON PLUS which provides special offers and discounts for UNISON members on insurance, mortgages, motoring, holidays and travel, financial services and much more. Plus UNISON Welfare, our own registered charity providing support exclusively for UNISON members and dependents at times of special need. They also run a free and confidential debt advice referral scheme, in partnership with Payplan.

RETIRED MEMBERS ISSUES
The latest government figures show that 27% of pensioners live below the poverty line. UNISON's retired members campaign for better rights for retired workers in terms of a decent income in older age and better public services. If you are struggling in any way you may wish to speak to a UNISON representative (rep). Your UNISON rep can help you if you are a UNISON member. Alternatively you can call UNISONdirect on 0800 0 857 857.
